Massage Therapy
Scott’s experiences have combined to give him extensive knowledge of the body along with the awareness of its ability to heal and restore function. Scott offers a unique massage style that blends modalities, experience and knowledge to heal the body.
Scott combines Thai, Shiatsu and Integrative Massage to offer work that encourages the body to restore function, increase range of motion, decrease pain and stress and relax. Thai Massage is an interactive manipulation of the body using passive stretching and gentle pressure along energy lines. In Shiatsu, the therapist applies pressure to acupoints, located all over the body in an effort to bring the body back into its natural balance and maintain proper flow of energy. Integrative massage combines modality and approach to allow Scott to personalize his approach with each client.
Sessions are performed on a floor mat with the client dressed in comfortable loose clothing.
About Thai Massage
Thai massage is a wonderful, relaxing, revitalizing treatment that can soothe aches and pains, restore lost flexibility and bring the body back to a state of balance.
Performed fully clothed on a mat on the floor, Thai massage involves gentle stretching and putting pressure along energy lines to clear stagnation, improve range of motion, relieve pain and liberate energy. Clients do not have to be flexible to receive Thai Massage and all stretching is within comfortable limits.
Traditional Thai Massage, which evolved from the ancient healing traditions of Ayurveda and Thai Buddhism, leads to greater physical awareness and spiritual energy. The practitioner uses hands, feet, arms, and legs to guide the recipient through a series of yoga postures involving fluid movements, gentle stretching, and breathwork. Performed on a floor mat in comfortable clothes, this assisted yoga creates a therapeutic “dance” incorporating rhythmic motion and palming and thumbing along energy lines to invoke emotional calming and deep relaxation.
Thai Massage involves gentle stretching and pressure techniques, used to release held patterns and blockages in the body and to treat persistent pain.
